Srushti (pronounced ‘srooshtea’) is a producer, researcher and founder of Algae, a new form of media. Algae is currently being incubated at NEW INC, the world’s first museum-led cultural incubator out of the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City. More here.

She earned a Masters of Science [S.M.] from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2023 where her thesis on virtual production explored how game engine technology shifts traditional media industries. While at MIT, she was a producer/researcher at the Co-Creation Studio and Open Documentary Lab for WORLDING, a climate XR incubator. She also co-led civic media and metaverse reading groups in the Boston/Cambridge area and received the MISTI + PKG grants for graduates working on new ventures.

Born in Mumbai and raised in Singapore, she went on to earn a B.A. with honors in Journalism and History from the University of Oregon, where was on scholarship through the ICSP program. She was a 2018 fellow at the Oxford Consortium for Human Rights.
